Unisys Federal Veterinarian Melissa Carson Appointed to Lead Iron Mountain Government Operations

Melissa Carson, former vice president of the federal business of Unisys acquired by Science Applications International Corp. (NYSE: SAIC) last year, was appointed vice president and general manager of government solutions at Iron Mountain (NYSE: IRM).

She will oversee Iron Mountain’s public sector business portfolio designed to help client agencies meet information management requirements, the colocation and data center service provider said on Friday.

Carson most recently served as Vice President in SAIC’s Civil Market Group and previously held leadership roles during her three-decade career in the Federal and Commercial segments of Unisys.

Her previous roles at Unisys Federal included Vice President Finance, COO and Business Unit CFO.

“Government agencies and educational institutions face significant challenges in terms of digital transformation and records management,” noted Carson. “On the federal front, agencies are required to comply with the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) Electronic Records Management Directive by the end of 2022, while state and local agencies and educational institutions must balance privacy concerns with the efficient provision of information for citizen services. “

She said Iron Mountain aims to help government customers meet these requirements.
