The advantage of cooking with brass utensils is that only 7% of nutrients are lost throughout the cooking process. Since brass utensils are a combination of zinc and copper, they contain the benefits of both metals. A copper deficiency lowers the body’s immunity, causes anemia, skin problems, and deteriorates bone health. Brass utensils are used to cook non-acidic foods like rice and dal.


Gushing about the benefits of drinking from copper vessels, nutritionist Lovneet Batra revealed, “Storing water in a copper jar creates a natural water purification process. It can eliminate mold, fungus, algae and bacteria in the water which are potentially harmful to the body, making the water safe to drink. Copper water exhibits antibacterial, antimicrobial, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

Adding to the list of health benefits, Dhriti Udeshi, fat loss expert, weight management expert and health coach shared, “Copper vessels can keep your water clean and fresh for a long time. Copper is well known for its anti-inflammatory properties which relieve pain from inflamed joints, strengthen your bones and aid in the efficient absorption of iron from your food. A common Ayurveda recommendation is to store water in a copper vessel/pot overnight and drink it first thing in the morning for good health. Copper metal has an electromagnetic energy which is called Prana Shakti and so storing it for 8-10 hours and drinking it is considered very beneficial. Copper makes water ionic, which helps maintain the body’s pH (acid-alkaline) balance.

Using Kansa helps reduce arthritis inflammation, improves memory, and helps with thyroid balance.
