Eriez, Erie, Pennsylvania, announced that 10 of its most popular suspended solenoid models are now available for fast shipment. With a variety of sizes and manual and self-cleaning options, these magnets meet many application requirements for extracting large ferrous objects from deep material load depths, according to the company.
Eriez suspended electromagnets (SE) collect metal debris from transported materials. The electromagnet is usually mounted or suspended above a conveyor belt to remove large pieces of enclosed metal, a hazard to downstream crushers, grinders, pulverizers and grinders. The company says its units improve product purity and remove metal that can damage or tear expensive conveyor belts.
Eric Confer, Magnetic Separation Product Manager at Eriez, says four manual cleaning models are included in the 10 day fast shipping program. These units vary in size from 60 to 78 inches wide. To meet other expedited shipping needs, the company says it also keeps two additional manually-cleaning SE magnets in stock: the 42-inch-wide SE-7338 and the 54-inch-wide SE-7535. The self-cleaning models SE-7323 through SE-7928, which range in size from 42 to 84 inches wide, typically require three weeks or less to ship from the date of order, the company adds.
“Our CSA approved SE-7000 suspended solenoids are designed to provide optimum performance, even in the harshest environments,” says Confer.
Eriez offers a five-year warranty on the spool, but Confer says the company’s experience has shown that the magnets generally perform effectively beyond the warranty period. He says, “We often replace magnets that have been in use for 20 to 40 years or more.
Confer says Eriez strives to optimize magnetic force through proprietary coil and core designs as well as his winding techniques. He says, “Combined with premium patented materials, coolants, controls and expansion tank design, our suspended solenoids provide industry-leading strength and coil life. “
